FAQ

How do I book a photography session with your team?

Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to us through our website, email, or phone, and let me know the type of session you're interested in. I'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient date and time for your session.

Where will our session take place

Family photo sessions can take place in our Toronto studio located at 263 Adelaide Street West; at Mint Room Studios located in The Junction; or outdoors in a park, beach, or open field. Toronto has a number of beautiful locations I can recommend based on your vision. Some of my favourites include Scarborough Bluffs, High Park, Cherry Beach, Sam Colonel Park and open fields with beautiful light.

How long does a typical photo session last?

The duration of a photo session varies depending on the type and scope of the project. Portrait sessions typically range from 1 to 2 hours, while events can span several hours. I strive to provide ample time to capture all the important moments and ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

We understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. My editing process typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the season. We prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I am flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

Can we include our pets in the family photoshoot?

Absolutely! I wholeheartedly embrace the notion that pets are cherished members of the family, deserving a place in your family portraits. Whether they're a playful pup, a majestic feline, or any other beloved companion, including them in your family session adds an extra layer of warmth and personality to your photos. I welcome pets with open arms and ensure they feel just as comfortable and celebrated as the rest of the family during the session.

WHat should we wear to our session?

Choosing the right attire for a photography session can significantly impact the overall look and feel of your photos. If you’re hoping to create movement in your photos, then dresses, skirts and looser clothing work great for this. At the end of the day, the more comfortable you are, the better your photos will turn out.

  1. Coordinate, don't match: Aim for a cohesive look rather than everyone wearing identical outfits. Choose a color palette or theme and select clothing that complements each other without being too matchy-matchy.
  2. Comfort is key: Ensure that everyone feels comfortable in their outfits. Avoid clothing that is too tight, itchy, or restrictive, as it may affect your comfort and confidence during the session.
  3. Consider the location and season: Take into account the location and season when selecting your outfits. Choose clothing that is appropriate for the weather and setting. For example, light, breathable fabrics for outdoor summer sessions, and layering for cooler temperatures.
  4. Avoid busy patterns and logos: Busy patterns, large logos, and distracting graphics can take the focus away from the people in the photos. Opt for solid colors, subtle patterns, or textures that add visual interest without overwhelming the frame.
  5. Be yourself: Choose outfits that reflect your personal style and personality. You want to feel like yourselves during the session, so don't feel pressured to wear something that doesn't feel authentic to you.
What sets your family photography services apart from others?

I like to think that I bring a unique energy to my photography sessions that sets me apart from the rest. My genuine happiness and enthusiasm for capturing family moments shine through, creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. My approach isn't just about taking photos; it's about creating an experience—a big hangout where everyone can relax, be themselves, and let the moments unfold naturally. It important to me that everyone feels at ease and enjoys themselves throughout the session. Understanding the importance of connection and the power it holds to create meaningful photographs. it's not just about snapping pictures; it's about building relationships based on trust and authenticity. In my lens, each person is seen, valued, and celebrated for who they are.

WHAT DO I DO IF My child is not COOPERATing?

As an aunt to two energetic boys, I totally get it! Every child has their own personality—some are full of energy, while others take time to warm up. That’s why my sessions are relaxed and playful, with no pressure to 'perform.' If your little one is bursting with energy, we’ll channel it into fun games and movement. If they’re shy, I’ll take a gentle approach, giving them space to feel comfortable. Some of the best moments happen when kids are simply being themselves, and I’m here to capture those authentic connections!

When should I book a newborn session?

Every family is different. I consider “newborn” to be anytime between 0-3 months. Some families prefer to have those fresh newborn feels and book within the first couple of weeks of arriving home from the hospital. So sleepy, so cute! Some families prefer to wait until they are better adjusted and in a bit more of a groove. This means baby will be a little more awake and interactive as well, so if that’s what you’re hoping for, then you may want to secure a date a month or two after your due date.

Are you available for travel outside of the GTA or Ontario?

Yes and yes. If you are booking within Ontario, but outside of the GTA, there is a mileage fee that will be applied to your quote. If you are looking to book outside of Ontario, then travel fees will apply and can be discussed further prior to booking.
